Accra Cholera Epidemic Claims 20 Just Over A Week
The death toll has increased to 20 in the cholera epidemic which hit the Ghanaian capital, Accra more than one week ago.
In spite of efforts by officials to try to prevent the water borne disease from spreading, the death toll continues to climb.
This means that since health authorities confirmed 11 deaths last week, nine more people have died from cholera in the past few days in Accra.
Last year, the Ghanaian government had to spend two million US dollars to battle a similar cholera outbreak in the country.
Frank Sainworla speaks with WADR’s Accra Correspondent Kofi Agyepong on the latest update on the cholera epidemic.
