Sierra Leone petty traders show of support for Koroma
It seems that Sierra Leone’s President Ernest Bai Koroma has won the hearts of the country’s petty traders, who over the weekend staged what they called ‘’a million man march’’ in his support.
The traders came out in their numbers showering praises on the Sierra Leonean leader, just over 7 months to presidential and general elections.
Most businesses in the capital were closed, though there were pockets of traders who ignored the march.
Koroma and his ruling All People’s Congress Party (APC) defeated the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in nearly four years ago and he’s seeking a second mandate on November 7.
WADR’s Freetown Correspondent Mohamed Konneh reports.
