Togo: ‘Good Walk’ to reaching MDG 2015-UNICEF
Togo is thriving in its efforts to reach the Millennium Development Goals, MDG in 2015.
A new report released Thursday in the capital Lome reveals that huge improvement has been made in some key sectors such as education. Enrollment in primary school has gone up to 88 % compared to 79% in 2006.
The number of early marriages has decreased, it is now 11, 5 % compared to 16% in 2006.
According to The MICS 2010 report, supported by the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF mortality rate is stable and access to water has not improved.
WADR's Lome correspondent, Ida Badjo, spoke with the Representative of UNICEF in Togo, Dr Viviane Van Steirteghem.
