Nigeria’s oil production rose slightly this year from 2.3 three million barrels a day to 2.4 million barrels.

This was announced by Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan in his budget speech to the joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja earlier this week.

The price of Oil, which is the country’s main export earner, is cautiously revised from the 75 US dollars per barrel approved in Nigeria’s 2011 amended budget.

He said that budget was based on a set of assumptions reflecting government’s determination to maintain prudence in the face of continued uncertainties in the external environment.

From Abuja, our Correspondent Martins Martins reports on this week’s budget speech of President Jonathan.
