'Ghana Trafficking China's Prostitutes'--EPAWA
An investigation by the Enslavement Protection Alliance West Africa (EPAWA), a non-governmental organization in Ghana has revealed that many Chinese prostitutes are being trafficked to Ghana to service expatriate communities in the country.
At a Press conference in Accra on Monday, the Executive Director of EPAWA,Tatiana Kotlyarenko said the victims are recruited under the guise of working as restaurant assistants.
They are then confined and forced to provide sexual services.
Ms. Kotlyarenko said their research shows the practice is more prevalent in the mining areas of the country.
