Ghana Pharmacists threaten to begin strike Monday
Pharmacists in Ghana have threatened to begin an indefinite nationwide strike action on Monday.
In a statement released in the capital, Accra, the Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association accused the Wages and Salaries Commission of employing what it called, “deceitful tactics”.
The Pharmacist Association claimed that the commission was displaying a clear disregard and contempt for agreements it reached with the association.
If the strike actually begins Monday, it will be the latest industrial action to rock Ghana’s health sector.
Recently, doctors at Ghana’s public hospitals staged a strike action that lasted over one week.
