Mano River Union experts discuss trade, infrastructureOctober 18, 2011
Experts from countries in the Mano River Union are currently meeting in the Ivorian commercial capital, Abidjan to discuss road infrastructures and trade among the four MRU member states.
The two-day meeting which started Monday is bringing together experts from the four-member countries, which include Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Ivory Coast.
Officials say the Abidjan forum is intended to reach an accord on the choice of road infrastructures to develop their transport system.
Also on the experts agenda is how to effectively supply MRU countries with energy and promote trade among them.
Ivory Coast African Integration Minister, Adama Bictogo told the meeting that his country decided to host the event to show that peace has returned and that it was now ready to take its responsabilities to ensure prosperity for the Mano River Union.
WADR’s Abidjan Ccorrespondent says the meeting also aims at strenghtening fraternity and solidarity among member countries, following conflicts which hit some of the MRU states recently.
