Guinea main opposition leader Diallo returns home but...

April 4, 2011

Diallo left the country after losing the second round presidential election to incumbent President Alpha Conde.

Our WADR Correspondent said he returned to Conakry on Sunday from trips to Europe and other African countries.

The opposition leader was welcomed by a huge crowd of supporters, despite the large deployment of security forces to prevent the gathering of militants and fans of his UFDG party.

WADR Conakry Correspondent says a row later broke out, resulting into clashes between security forces and the young militants of Diallo, leaving a number of persons hurt.

Several arrests were made and sources said one person was killed.
