In Niger, the Red Cross is concerned that floods and cholera epidemic might get worse.

Over three million people in the country are already suffering from food insecurity.

Torrential rains continue to cause havoc in almost every region of the country, destroying crops and properties, as authorities grapple with a cholera epidemic, which has entered its 34th week.

Amadou Tidjani Adamou is in charge of communications at the Red-Cross in Niger.

Listen to Adamou as he describes the cholera situation to WADR’s Thomas Marrier and explains why the authorities fear the emergence of a new food crisis.
