Obasanjo urges opposition: allow Wade run in Sunday polls but…

Hours to Sunday’s presidential election in Senegal, the African Union and ECOWAS special envoy, ex-Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo wants the opposition to abandon their rejection of incumbent President Abdoulaye Wade’s candidacy and allow the polls to go ahead, but some opposition leaders have rejected his “road map”.

One of Senegal’s 14 presidential candidates, Dr. Ibrahima Fall has has called for dialogue to end the standoff between the government and opposition, ahead of Sunday's presidential election.

In an interview with West Africa Democracy Radio (WADR) this week, Dr, Fall said, with the opposition resisting President Wade’s third term candidacy and the President standing his ground.
