Group formed to legalize Same Sex marriage in Liberia
January 9, 2012In the wake of the US and British government’s recent pronouncements that they will use aid and diplomacy to ensue the promotion of gay rights, including legalization of same sex marriage around the world, a new group has been formed in Liberia to support the British and Americans’ positions.
Jonathan Cuts 25% of Nigerian Public Officials' Allowances
January 8, 2012Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has directed a 25 percent reduction in the allowances of political office holders in the country.
The Nigerian leader also ordered that overseas trips by government officials, including officials in the presidency, be reduced drastically.
President Wade's Bodyguard Undergoes Police Probe
January 7, 2012A bodyguard to Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade was Friday questioned by police in connection with the death of a man shot dead during recent political clashes at a Dakar city council.
Bodyguard Baye Moussé Bâ was arrested and placed in police custody Friday along with Sémou Niakhar Diouf, former aid of Interior Minister Farba Senghor, and two others.
