Mali: Ruling party appoints next flag-bearer

Mali's ruling party, the Malian Alliance for Democracy (ADEMA), has selected the Speaker of the Parliament as its flag-bearer for next year’s election.

Reports from Bamako say Dioncounda Traore’s appointment was unanimous and he was endorsed by all the seven other contenders for the post.
