The children’s charity, Plan International says girls around the world face “double discrimination,” in a new report released on Thursday.

According to the report titled, Because I am a girl, research shows that girls are more likely to suffer from malnutrition, forced into early marriage,   be subject to violence and trafficked as well as forced into the sex trade or get infected with HIV.

Mali-China bridge opened in Bamako

The China-Mali Friendship Bridge was opened Thursday as part of celebrations marking Mali’s 51st independence anniversary.
