Senegal: Presidential hopeful promises to end Casamance crisis in 500 days

The leader of the opposition Senegalese Workers and People’s Party, Maitre Elhaji Diouf says if elected in the February 2012 polls, he will resolve the long-running armed rebellion in the southern Senegalese region of Casamance in just 500 days.

October 18, 2011The first annual Conference on Climate Change and Development in Africa (CCDA-I) is underway in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
The three-day conference, organized by the by Economic Commission for Africa, ECA’s African Climate Policy Centre (ACPC), is expected to provide a forum for dialogue, awareness raising so as to mobilize effective commitment and actions on climate change by African stakeholders, an ECA press statement said.
